Why is it important to talk openly about money?

Financial literacy — is not only about numbers, but also about the ability to ask questions, analyze information and make informed decisions that work for your financial future.

Global Money Week — an annual international educational campaign that unites over 100 countries around the world to increase financial awareness of children and youth. During this period, thematic educational events dedicated to competent financial management are held.

MTB Bank annually joins the campaign, supporting the development of financial culture and a conscious attitude towards money.

«Smart Money Talks: Honest Talks about Money» – is the official theme of Global Money Week in 2026, during which from March 16 to 19 we will talk about how to:
✔️ ask questions about money to financial professionals
✔️ openly discuss financial difficulties
✔️ plan a budget and financial goals
✔️ critically evaluate sources of advice
✔️ make far-sighted financial decisions

Young people face choices every day:

•  save or spend?
•  invest or postpone?
•  trust advice or verify information and protect yourself from scammers?

Honest conversations about money and financial education build confidence and help build a sustainable financial future.

In Ukraine, the campaign is coordinated by the National Bank Ukraine — member of OECD/INFE and official coordinator of the initiative.
