In Ternopil, with the support of Action Business, USAID and EKA, a discussion was held with business representatives about important strategic issues of development and support for the export of goods and services of Ukrainian origin.
Recently, the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine called on Ukrainian banks to support the Ukrainian economy during the war by financing the export of Ukrainian goods, works and services to world markets.
«The main task for us during the war is to restart the economy. In the first half of the year, we have a 24% drop in exports. Therefore, we are currently working on stimulating export operations. I really want commercial banks to help in this and instead of NBU certificates of deposit invest in lending to the real sector of the economy,'' said Minister of Economy Yuliya Svyridenko.
The mechanism of portfolio insurance of loans issued for the fulfillment of export contracts was launched by EKA in June of this year. The risk of the exporter not fulfilling the terms of the credit agreement in terms of repaying the body of the loan and/or interest on it is insured. This protects banks from default and helps the banking system remain stable and efficient
Participation of MTB Bank in the work of the round table "Export financing: available opportunities and prospects for development" made certain decisions regarding the role of available financing in the recovery and stimulation of export activity in Ukraine.
«Cooperation exporters with an export agency and commercial banks – this is a real chance to receive financial support during the war," Dmytro Tkachenko, head of the MTB Bank branch in the western region of the country, is confident.
During the two months of the "Courageous Hryvnia" charity event, collected more than 1.6 million hryvnias in coins.
