Fishing is the new type of the economic frauds in the field of electronics.

Fishing is the scheme representing a new type of the economic fraud in the field of electronics.  It includes false e-mail letters and fake internet-site represented by allegedly widely known and recognized banks and companies. The purpose of fishing is the fraud with the use of fakes circumventing the recipient of the letter with the purpose of obtaining his/her personal, confidential and financial information such as access codes (name and PIN-code), credit card numbers etc.

In order to secure yourself from the fishing fraud, please follow the recommendations below:

• Be careful providing any information to any e-mail address asking for such personal information as the official name of the user, PIN-code, credit card number etc. As a rule false e-mail doesn’t apply personally to the user, i.e. it will not contain your full name because such letters are sent to many recipients.
• Don’t use the links to the Internet-sites in your letters if you doubt the originality of the letter
• In transmitting confidential and private information always make sure that you use the secured Internet-sites the address of which begins with HTTPS, not HTTP.
• Often control the funds flow in the card account used for the electronic payments.
• Make sure that the browser used is reliable and has all the required safety updates
